This Privacy Policy describes how Kakupix ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Kakupix mobile application (the "App").
Information we collect
We collect the following information when you use the App: • Account information: your email address and basic profile details (username, display name, avatar) that you provide when signing up. • Photos and videos: media you capture in the App and choose to post. EXIF metadata (such as device, camera settings, and the location embedded in the image file) is stripped before the media leaves your device. • Location: when you create a post, we attach the geographic coordinates at the moment of capture so the post can appear in location-based feeds and on the map. We do not track your location in the background. • Push notification token: a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used to deliver notifications to your device. • Usage and device data: basic technical information (device model, OS version, app version, crash logs) needed to operate and improve the App.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to operate the App, deliver the location-based feed and map, send notifications you've opted into, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. We use the following service providers to operate the App: • Supabase — authentication, database, and storage. • Cloudflare (R2) — media storage and delivery. • Amazon Web Services — video transcoding (HLS). • Firebase (Google) — push notifications. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.
Data retention
We retain account data and posted media for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, posts, and associated media within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., abuse or fraud investigations).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the CCPA, or similar laws — including the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights at any time by emailing hello@kakupix.com.
Children
Kakupix is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We rely on our service providers' safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App or by email.
